Concept Academy Medical Essay Competition 2026 : ₦1m Prize

Concept Academy has opened its 2026 National Intercollegiate Medical Essay Competition for medical students in Nigeria. The contest focuses on “Artificial Intelligence, Telemedicine, and the Future of Patient Care in Africa.”

The competition asks students of Medicine and Surgery to think clearly about how technology may shape patient care across Africa; first, applicants must send a short abstract. Only shortlisted candidates will move to the full essay stage.

Essay Topic

The essay topic is:

“Artificial Intelligence, Telemedicine, and the Future of Patient Care in Africa.”

Applicants should write an abstract that speaks directly to this topic. A short abstract leaves no room for loose writing, so each sentence needs to carry meaning.

Who Can Apply

The competition is open only to students of Medicine and Surgery. Applicants must be studying at Nigerian medical universities or colleges.

Concept Academy did not list the contest for other fields. That point matters.

Abstract Requirement

Each participant must submit an abstract of 70 to 100 words. The abstract must address the essay topic clearly.

The academy will review the abstracts first, then shortlist candidates for the full essay submission stage. Candidates who do not make the shortlist will not proceed to the next stage.

Prizes

Concept Academy will award cash prizes to the top three entries.

• First Prize: ₦1,000,000
• Second Prize: ₦500,000
• Third Prize: ₦250,000

How to Apply

Interested medical students should submit their abstracts through the Concept Academy competition portal. The portal is the stated application route.

Applicants should keep the abstract within 70 to 100 words and stay on the topic. A clear response will serve better than a long one that drifts.

Application Deadline

All abstracts must be submitted by 31 May 2026. Candidates who plan to enter the Concept Academy medical essay competition should send their abstracts before the deadline.
