David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship 2026: Full Tuition for African Students

The David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship Programme has opened for 2026 applications. The award gives full academic fee support to selected young Africans who plan to study at Covenant University or Landmark University, Nigeria.

The scholarship supports the Foundation’s aim of raising youth leaders who can use their training in leading bodies, communities and their home countries. Applicants must still gain admission into Covenant University or Landmark University through the normal university admission process.

What the Scholarship Covers

The David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship covers full academic fees for a maximum of five years. The exact length depends on the time set by the university for the chosen course.

The award does not cover every cost linked to study. Applicants should take note of what falls outside the scholarship before applying.

The scholarship does not cover:

• Travel allowances
• Feeding allowances
• Medical or health insurance
• Any fee outside university-generated academic fees for a course at any level

Who Can Apply for David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship

The scholarship is open to young Africans who meet all stated conditions. Applicants who fall short of the listed rules will not move to the selection committee.

Candidates must:

• Be citizens and permanent residents of an African nation
• Be between 16 and 25 years old when submitting the application
• Qualify for a Nigerian student visa
• Read, write and speak English well
• Show strong secondary school performance
• Have started admission applications to Covenant University or Landmark University

For academic performance, Nigerian applicants need at least 240 points and above in JAMB. Other applicants need an 80% recorded average or 4.0 GPA on a 5.0 scale in their secondary or high school transcript.

Admission Note for Applicants

The scholarship application does not mean automatic admission into Covenant University or Landmark University. Each applicant must secure university admission separately through the university’s own admission process.

The scholarship award depends on university admission. Without admission into the stated universities, the award cannot stand.

Selection Process

The David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship uses a need-dependent and merit-based open competition. After the deadline, a selection panel will review all eligible applications.

Shortlisted finalists will take part in interviews with the David Oyedepo Foundation team through an online video conferencing platform. Candidates who reach the final round must provide proof of application to Covenant University or Landmark University, proof of citizenship and original copies of all documents uploaded during the application.

Selection Criteria

Selection panels will assess each application using the following points. The list does not follow any order of weight.

• Strong academic record
• Financial need
• Good character
• Leadership and community involvement
• Commitment to support the home community with learned skills

Application Link and General Tips

Applicants should apply through the David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship application form. The Foundation uses an internet-based application system.

Applicants need a computer, internet access and a scanner to upload required documents. Phone-snapped documents will lead to disqualification.

Candidates do not have to finish the form at once. They may save their work and return later, but an account left untouched for up to 30 days will be deleted.

All questions must be answered in English. All uploaded documents must also be translated into English.

The Foundation will consider only applications submitted through the online system. Applications or details sent by email or other means will not count.

General and Contact Information Section

Applicants must provide general details in the required format. If selected for interview, they will need documents that verify age and country of citizenship.

The Parent or Guardian section should contain details of biological parents or legal guardians only. The contact details supplied on the form should be active, since the Foundation will use them during the application and selection process.

Education Section

Applicants must insert their secondary school transcript. Those who did not complete their education at the school listed should indicate “nil”.

Candidates must also insert their proposed university and proposed course of study. The scholarship is currently for Covenant University and Landmark University only, and applicants can choose only from the available course options.

For examination results, applicants should enter the name and date of the nationally recognised O’Level examination. The exam type may differ by country.

A combination of two different certificate examinations is not allowed. JAMB result applies only to Nigerian applicants, and every Nigerian applicant must enter a JAMB result for the application to be considered.

Recommendation Section

Applicants must provide details for an academic referee. This should be an academic staff member who knows the applicant’s school progress and related records.

A recommendation letter from the academic referee must be uploaded under the credentials section. Parents or guardians cannot serve as referees.

Applicants must also provide details for a religious referee. This should be a cleric who knows the applicant’s spiritual growth, conduct and character, and the referee’s letter must be uploaded in the required section.

Essay Section

The application contains four essay questions. Each essay has a word limit of 500 words.

Applicants must not exceed the word limit. The essays help the selection committee understand the applicant as a leader and assess the applicant’s interest in the programme.

English Language Requirement

English language proficiency is required for the David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship Programme. All activities and communication will take place in English, with no translation support.

Applicants should complete the language skills section as accurately as possible. Clear, honest entries will help the review process.

Application Deadline

The deadline for the David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship Programme is 11:59 pm GMT+1 on Friday, 19 June 2026. The Foundation will not provide deadline extensions.
