The National Universities Commission (NUC) has awarded a permanent licence to Ahman Pategi University (APU), marking a key milestone in its journey as a private university in Nigeria.
This licence grants APU full operational status.
APU initially received its licence from the Federal Government through the NUC on 8th April 2021.
The recent award of a permanent licence follows a thorough resource verification exercise completed in June 2024.
This licence recognises APU’s commitment to building strong infrastructure, developing faculty, and promoting research initiatives.
These efforts place APU as a prominent figure in Nigeria’s private tertiary education sector.
Dr Amina Ahman Pategi accepted the licence certificate on behalf of the late founder, Hon Dr Aliyu Bahago Ahman Pategi, at the NUC office in Abuja on 30th October 2024.
Dr Pategi expressed appreciation to the NUC, highlighting the licence as a validation of APU’s dedication to delivering high-quality education.
She affirmed the university’s commitment to nurturing individuals who contribute to national growth.
With the permanent licence, APU can broaden its academic offerings, build industry partnerships, and enhance research collaborations.
This status strengthens APU’s role as a hub of academic excellence in Nigeria’s educational landscape.
