Chevening Scholarships for Study in UK
Applications are now open for the UK Government's Chevening Scholarship 2026-2027. The award covers tuition, living allowance, travel and more for a one-year master's degree at any UK university. Interested persons should review the criteria and apply early.

Every year, the Chevening Scholarship brings together bright minds from around the globe and sends them off to study in the United Kingdom. For the 2026-2027 academic year, the door is wide open again. It's more than a grant, it's a chance to spend a year learning, living and connecting in a place where cobbled streets and libraries carry centuries of stories.
This scholarship isn't only about the degree. It's the people you meet over cups of tea, the cold walks to class, the small talks in corridors and that feeling of being far from home yet oddly at home.

What the award covers
Chevening is fully funded, so you won't be juggling tuition fees and rent bills while trying to write essays. It takes care of:
- University tuition fees
- A monthly living allowance
- Travel costs to and from the UK
- An arrival allowance
- A homeward departure allowance
- The cost of one visa application
- A travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK
All this, so you can focus on learning and, honestly, soaking in the experience.
Who can apply
You stand a chance if you:
- Are a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory
- Promise to return to your home country for at least two years after the scholarship ends
- Have at least two years of work experience (about 2,800 hours)
- Hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies you for a UK master's programme
- Apply to three eligible UK master's courses and secure an unconditional offer from at least one by the set deadline
It's worth noting, if you've already studied in the UK with a government-funded award, you're out of the running this time. Same goes if you have British citizenship, unless it falls under special cases like British Overseas Territory.
When a past master's isn't a barrier
Already have a master's? That's not a deal-breaker. You can still apply for another, as long as you can clearly show how it links to your work goals and how it could help you make a difference back home.
How to apply
- Start by checking the Chevening awards page for your country.
- Choose your country of citizenship, then select scholarship or fellowship.
- Follow the steps and submit before the deadline.
If in doubt, the Chevening FAQ page is a handy place to clear things up.
Opportunities like this don't knock twice every week. If you feel ready, take the shot. As some would say here, "this one no be small thing."
