Edo State College of Nursing 2nd Convocation Ceremony 2025

Edo State College of Nursing Sciences is set to hold its second Convocation Ceremony and lecture series from Sunday 16 November to Friday 21 November 2025 in Benin City.

The Provost, Mrs Mabel Olubunmi Omobude, on behalf of the College Visitor, Management, Academic Board, faculty, staff and students, invites graduands, families, friends and well-wishers to a full week of activities that honour hard work, service and learning.

The convocation week brings prayers, health care, fun activities, sports and the formal award of certificates to deserving graduands.

Sunday 16 November 2025 – Thanksgiving Service

• Event: Convocation Thanksgiving Service
• Venue: His Glory New Covenant Gospel Church Int'l Headquarters, beside Edokpolor Grammar School, New Benin, Benin City
• Time: 10:00 am

Students, staff, graduands and families can come together to give thanks for the years of study and care.

Monday 17 November 2025 – Free Medical Outreach

• Event: Free Medical Outreach
• Venue: College campus
• Time: 10:00 am

This outreach gives simple health checks and care to people in and around the college community. Nursing students can see real examples of service and community support.

Tuesday 18 November 2025 – Old School Day

• Event: Old School Day
• Time: 9:00 am

Students and staff can dress in old-style outfits or classic school wear. It is a light, friendly day that helps people relax, laugh and share stories from school life.

Wednesday 19 November 2025 – Jersey and Sport Day

• Event: Jersey and Sport day
• Venue: Edo State Indoor Sport Hall, along Etete Road, Benin City
• Time: 3:00 pm

Participants can wear club or national team jerseys and take part in simple games. It gives students a break from books and lets them support classmates in a healthy way.

Thursday 20 November 2025 – Variety Day

• Event: Variety Day
• Time: 9:00 am

Students may share songs, short plays, dance, poetry or clean comedy. It is a chance for graduands and undergraduates to show skills that are not seen in the classroom.

Friday 21 November 2025 – Convocation Ceremony and Awards

• Event: Convocation Ceremony and Award of Certificates to deserving graduands
• Convocation lecture: To be delivered by Mrs Mary Aguelegbe Iniomor
• All guests and graduands are to be seated by 9:30 am

This is the peak of the week, where graduands receive certificates and are formally celebrated for their effort and success.
