FUAMB matriculates 599 students at second matriculation ceremony

The Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi, FUAMB, has formally matriculated 599 newly admitted students into its academic community.

The second matriculation ceremony took place on Tuesday, 31 March 2026, at the Sali Isa Bello Event Center in Mubi. It marked a clear step for the new intake; the message from the day was direct.

Registrar welcomes students and gives early warning

In her opening remarks, the University Registrar, Mrs Fatima Saidu Bashir, welcomed the students, parents and dignitaries.

She urged the new students to remain disciplined, obey the university’s rules and regulations, and carry themselves as worthy ambassadors of the university.

Vice-Chancellor stresses smart agriculture, discipline and practical learning

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bitrus Dawi Tarfa, congratulated the matriculating students.

He encouraged them to embrace the university’s vision of smart agriculture, new thinking, discipline and practice-based learning. He also said punctuality, dedication and obedience to university regulations are central to academic success and character development.

Pro-Chancellor praises support for emerging universities

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr Rukaiyatu Abdulkarim Gurin, mni, praised the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, for their commitment to strengthening emerging universities through supportive policies and interventions.

She also appreciated the continued support of Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Governor of Adamawa State, as well as the cooperation of the host community.

Adamawa agriculture commissioner speaks on FUAMB’s role

Also speaking at the event, the Adamawa State Commissioner for Agriculture, Prof David Finchiwa Jatau, described FUAMB as a strategic university that can drive agricultural change in Adamawa State and Nigeria.

He encouraged indigenes of the state to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the university.

ADSU Vice-Chancellor calls for discipline and dedication

The Vice-Chancellor of Adamawa State University, Professor Augustine Clement, stressed the need for discipline and academic dedication among students.

He also praised FUAMB management for the successful organisation of the ceremony.

Emir of Mubi sends royal blessings

Royal blessings came from the Emir of Mubi, Alh Dr Abubakar Isa Ahmadu CFR, who was represented by Alhaji Abubakar Mahmud Wambai, the Madakin Mubi.

He prayed for the continued growth of the university and urged the students to stay focused on gaining knowledge and practical skills.

Dignitaries and guests in attendance

The ceremony drew the attendance of University Principal Officers, Deans, Directors, HODs, Heads of Security Organisations, traditional leaders, parents, representatives of sister universities, public office holders and other distinguished guests.
