FUOTUOKE Matriculation Ceremony 2024/2025

The Federal University Otuoke (FUOTUOKE) matriculation ceremony is a significant event for new students in the 2024/2025 academic session.
The ceremony officially welcomes newly admitted students into the academic community.

This article provides details about the ceremony's schedule, procession and procedures for the collection and return of academic gowns.
Details of the FUOTUOKE Matriculation Ceremony
The 13th matriculation ceremony will take place on Friday, 20th December 2024.
The event will begin at 10:00 AM.
The venue for the ceremony is the University Pavilion, East Campus.
Processions for the Matriculation Ceremony
The event will feature four distinct processions:
- Students' Procession.
- Congregation Procession.
- Senate Procession.
- Principal Officers' Procession, led by the Mace Bearer.
The processions will start promptly at 8:30 AM.
All participants must be seated by 9:30 AM, as the main ceremony begins at 10:00 AM.
Collection and Return of Academic Gowns
Fresh students are required to follow these steps for the collection and return of academic gowns.
Collection of Gowns
- Monday, 16th December 2024: Faculty Officers will collect gowns from the Senate Office.
- Tuesday, 17th December 2024: Students can collect gowns from their Faculty Office upon presenting a school fees payment receipt.
Return of Gowns
- Monday, 23rd December 2024: Deadline for students to return gowns by 4:00 PM.
Students failing to return gowns on time will be fined ₦5,000 per day for each day the gowns remain unreturned.
Students who damage gowns will pay ₦20,000 to the Bursary and present the payment receipt to the Registrar.
Failure to pay for damaged gowns may result in withholding of examination results.
Faculty Officers must return all collected gowns to the Senate Office by Monday, 6th January 2025.
Returned gowns will be inspected for any damages and Faculty Officers will bear the cost of replacements if needed.
Important Notices for Students
The matriculation ceremony is a formal event and all students are expected to attend in their academic gowns.
Punctuality is required for both the ceremony and the processions.
Adhering to gown return deadlines will help avoid unnecessary fines or delays in processing academic records.
