FUTMINNA Opens Application for Registrar Position – Apply Now

The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) is currently seeking applications for the position of Registrar, following a vacancy in June 2024. This opportunity is open to qualified individuals who meet the outlined requirements.

Duties of the Registrar

The Registrar holds the position of Chief Administrative Officer at FUTMINNA. As the Chief Administrative Officer, the individual will report directly to the Vice-Chancellor and manage the day-to-day administrative activities of the University. Additionally, the Registrar will serve as the Secretary to key bodies, including the Council, Senate, Congregation and Convocation of the University.

Essential Qualifications

To be eligible for the role, applicants must be below 59 years of age at the time of appointment. The successful candidate will hold a minimum of a Second Class Lower Honours Degree in Social Sciences or Humanities from a recognised university. A higher degree in a relevant field is a plus.

Membership in at least one relevant professional association is mandatory. Candidates must also demonstrate proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and its use in University administration.

Candidates should be physically and mentally fit, display high integrity and possess strong leadership abilities. Furthermore, strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential for the role.

Experience Required

Candidates must have fifteen years of continuous post-qualification experience in University administration, with at least three years served as a Deputy Registrar.

Conditions of Service

The remuneration package and conditions of service will align with those applicable to Registrars at Federal Universities in Nigeria and as set by the University's Council and the Federal Government.

Applicants are required to submit a 500-word statement detailing their vision for the effective administration of the University. They must also provide thirty copies of their application, along with supporting documents and a current detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV), arranged in the following order:

1. Full name (surname in capital letters).
2. Place and date of birth.
3. Permanent home address.
4. Contact details: Postal address, phone number(s) and email.
5. Nationality.
6. Marital status.
7. Number and ages of children (if applicable).
8. Educational background, with dates.
9. Academic and professional qualifications, with dates.
10. Details of work experience, including current status and salary.
11. Extra-curricular activities.
12. Names and contact details of three referees, one of whom must be the applicant's current employer.
