The Gates Cambridge Scholarship is one of the most well-known awards offered to students from outside the United Kingdom. It began in October 2000 when the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation gave a record donation of 210 million US dollars to Cambridge.   • One-year postgraduate course (full-time), with some exceptions
