HBBA #MyImageMyRight Challenge 2025, rules, prizes and how to enter
Hope Behind Bars Africa has opened the #MyImageMyRight Challenge for students in Nigerian tertiary schools. Create a short TikTok or Instagram video on image rights, cyber laws and safe use of technology. Submit by October 6, 2025 and stand a chance to win cash prizes and an internship.
Hope Behind Bars Africa is calling on young voices to step up with the #MyImageMyRight Challenge. This contest is not just for fun, it is a stage to talk loud about rights, safety and respect online. With just two minutes, students can spread a message that bites harder than any lecture note.
Who can join the HBBA #MyImageMyRight Challenge
- Students of Nigerian tertiary schools
- Age range: 15 to 24 years
- Passion for justice, fairness and human rights
What your video should cover
- The risks of sharing intimate images without consent
- Dangers of revenge porn and cyber harassment
- Issues around tech-based gender violence
- Lessons on Nigerian laws like the Cybercrimes Act, VAPP Act and Data Protection Act
- How breaking these rights can cause arrest or detention
You can make it a skit, spoken word, drama, song or even storytelling. The main thing is, keep it fun, sharp and true.

How to enter the HBBA #MyImageMyRight Challenge
- Create a video no longer than 2 minutes
- Post it on TikTok or Instagram with the hashtag #MyImageMyRight
- Follow and tag @HopeBehindBarsAfrica on both platforms
- Push your friends to like, share and comment
Criteria for winning
Judges will look out for:
- Creativity – something fresh, catchy and engaging
- Accuracy – your facts should sit well with Nigerian law
- Impact – a clear message that teaches your peers
- Engagement – likes, comments, shares and reach
Prizes up for grabs
- First Prize: ₦150,000 plus a paid internship with HBBA
- Second Prize: ₦100,000
- Third Prize: ₦70,000
- Extra consolation prizes for other good entries
Top clips will also get featured on HBBA pages and showcased at campus events.

- All entries close on October 6, 2025. No extra time, so better act fast.
