Ika South LGA bursary 2025/2026 application portal

Ika South Local Government has announced the start of the 2025/2026 Students Bursary Scheme for eligible indigenous students of the area.
A public notice released by the administration under Hon. Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior introduced the bursary under its Education Support Initiative; the aim, as stated, is to promote academic excellence and ease students' financial burden.

Who Can Apply (Eligibility)
The notice lists these requirements for applicants:
- The applicant must be a bona fide indigenous student of Ika South Local Government Area.
- The applicant must have a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
- The applicant must be a full-time student in a government-approved public or private tertiary school.
- The applicant must have a minimum CGPA of 2.50 in the previous academic session.
- The applicant must be in:
- second year (200 level) or above in universities or
- ND II/HND in polytechnics/monotechnics or
- NCE II-III in colleges of education.
- The applicant must hold an active account with a CBN-approved commercial bank.
Postgraduate students (PGD, Masters, PhD) are not eligible to apply; that point is stated plainly.
Documents Required for Upload
Applicants are required to upload the following during the online application:
- Local Government of Origin Certificate
- Birth Certificate / Declaration of Age
- Provisional Admission Letter
- Last Semester Result Sheet (signed by Head of Department)
- Student Identity Card (front and back)
- Recent passport photograph (JPEG or PNG)
How to Apply (Online Steps)
Interested candidates should visit the portal and click "Proceed to Application Portal":
A non-refundable processing fee of N1,100 is required to complete the application.
After submission, successful applicants are advised to download and print the online acknowledgement card for record purposes (keep it safe, keep it handy).
Application Deadline
The portal will be open for four weeks:
- From Friday, 16 Jan 2026
- To Friday, 13 February 2026
