JAMB Releases Results for 85 Underage Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of results for 85 underage candidates who successfully completed its comprehensive screening for exceptional admission. These candidates, all below 16 years as of September 2025, were assessed under a special policy designed to handle unique cases of early academic achievement.
According to JAMB, the cleared candidates have been officially notified to proceed to their respective tertiary schools to complete the admission process and print their individual admission letters.
Details of the JAMB Exceptional Admission Policy
This exceptional admission policy by JAMB follows international best practices where rare academic cases are given careful review before approval. Out of the 2,031,133 applicants who sat for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), a total of 41,027 applied under this special category.

Among them, 599 candidates met the 80 percent threshold in the UTME and were invited for further evaluation through school certificate verification and post-UTME screening. Following these steps, 182 finalists were shortlisted and after interviews and checks, 85 were confirmed as qualified for admission.
Next Steps for Underage Candidates
JAMB stated that any of the 182 finalists who may have missed the final interview can still submit a formal request through the JAMB Support Ticketing System via support.jamb.gov.ng.
Applicants should select the category titled "2025 Underage Complaint" and submit the required details for consideration. Each case will be reviewed individually and outcomes will be communicated directly through the same platform.
Candidates who scored 320 and above in the 2025 UTME but were disqualified for failing to upload their O'Level results have also been given an opportunity to upload their results within two days (no later than Wednesday, 29 October 2025) and inform the Board through the ticketing portal.
JAMB's Commitment to Transparent Admission
JAMB reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining a credible, fair and transparent admission process across all Nigerian universities, polytechnics and colleges of education. The Board emphasised that while the policy allows for special cases, academic integrity remains its top priority.
Closing Note on JAMB Admission Update
The management of JAMB continues to promote fairness and accountability in tertiary admissions. Candidates affected by this recent update are encouraged to follow the given instructions carefully and complete all necessary procedures within the timelines provided to secure their rightful admission status.
