The Kaduna State University (KASU) has officially released the Postgraduate Admission Form for the 2024/2025 academic session.
This is a chance for prospective students, both from within Nigeria and abroad, to advance their studies at one of the nation's top universities.

Kaduna State University (KASU) Postgraduate Admission Requirements
Postgraduate Diploma
To be eligible for the Postgraduate Diploma programme, candidates must meet these requirements:
- Five Credit Passes: Must have credits in English Language and Mathematics at O'Level in a maximum of two sittings.
- Bachelor's Degree: Must possess a Bachelor's Degree not lower than Third Class from a recognised university.
- Related Field Degree: A Bachelor's Degree with at least Second Class (Lower Division) in a field unrelated to the applied course may be considered.
- Higher National Diploma (HND): A minimum of Lower Credit in a related field from a recognised polytechnic.
- Exclusions: Candidates with a Pass in their Bachelor's Degree, HND or any equivalent qualification will not be considered.
Professional Master's Programmes
For Professional Master's Programmes, the following are needed:
- Five Credit Passes: Must have credits in English Language and Mathematics at O'Level in a maximum of two sittings.
- First Degree: A First Degree from KASU or any other recognised university in the relevant field with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division).
- Third Class/HND with Postgraduate Diploma: Candidates with a Third Class Degree or HND plus a Postgraduate Diploma from KASU or any recognised institution with a CGPA of 3.50 may also be considered.
Academic Master's Programmes
Candidates wishing to apply for Academic Master's Programmes must have:
- Five Credit Passes: Credits in English Language and Mathematics at O'Level in a maximum of two sittings.
- First Degree: A First Degree in the relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 for Science, Computing & Engineering; Second Class (Lower Division) for other disciplines.
- Postgraduate Diploma: A Postgraduate Diploma with a CGPA of not less than 3.50 may be considered.
MPhil/PhD Programmes
For MPhil/PhD programmes, applicants need:
- Five Credit Passes: Credits in English Language and Mathematics at O'Level in a maximum of two sittings.
- First Degree: A First Degree in a relevant field with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division).
- Academic Master's Degree: An Academic Master's Degree from KASU or another recognised institution with a CGPA below the requirements for a full PhD.
Doctorate Degree Programmes
For Doctorate Degree admission, candidates must meet these criteria:
- Five Credit Passes: Credits in English Language and Mathematics at O'Level in a maximum of two sittings.
- First Degree: A First Degree in the relevant field with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division).
- Academic Master's Degree: An Academic Master's Degree from KASU or a recognised institution with a CGPA of 4.00 in Sciences and 3.50 for other fields.
- Research Proposal: Prepare a tentative research proposal between 1000 and 1500 words to be uploaded during application.
Application Process for KASU Postgraduate Admission
Interested applicants should follow these steps to apply for the Kaduna State University (KASU) Postgraduate Admission Form:
- Visit the KASU Application Portal: Go to the KASU Application Portal to start the application.
- Processing Fee: The application processing fee is N10,000 for Nigerians and $20 for non-Nigerians.
- Create a Profile: Start the application by creating a profile. A username and password will be sent to your email.
- Fill in Application Form: Log in with your details and proceed to fill in the online application form.
- Provide Transcripts: If offered admission, candidates must submit transcripts of academic records and originals of their credentials at the point of registration.
The deadline for applications is 30th November 2024.
