Professor Abdullahi Musa Ashafa will take on the role of Acting Vice-Chancellor at Kaduna State University (KASU) with effect from June 14, 2022.

Halima Lawal, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Education, announced the appointment of Ashafa, a professor of diplomatic history and the immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).

Prof. Ashafa previously served as Head of the History Department, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies and the immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, at Kaduna State University.

Ashafa was the Vice President of the North West Zone of the Historical Society of Nigeria. In addition, he is a Research Fellow at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA).
