Kwara State Polytechnic Suspends Keke Napep Services on Campus
Kwara State Polytechnic students are urged to stop using Keke Napep due to unfair price hikes. Learn why and how the Students' Union is handling it.
The Kwara State Polytechnic has temporarily suspended the use of Keke Napep services within its campus.
This directive, issued by the Students’ Union Government (SUG), is in response to recent developments regarding transportation fare increases.
Students are urged to comply with this directive until further notice.
The suspension comes after an unjustified fare hike, which saw prices jump from N100 to N200.
This increase is viewed as unreasonable and unsustainable for students.
The SUG highlights that students are being unfairly targeted and exploited due to their heavy reliance on Keke Napep for movement within the campus.
The fare adjustment fails to consider the current economic difficulties faced by both students and some staff members of the polytechnic.
In response to these issues, the Students’ Union Government is actively engaging with the operators, campus authorities, and relevant stakeholders.
The goal is to negotiate a fair and reasonable solution that ensures students can afford transportation services on campus.
For now, students are advised to avoid using Keke Napep until the situation is resolved.
The SUG assures students that their safety and well-being remain a top priority.
Further updates on this matter will be shared as soon as there is progress in negotiations.
