LASU Email Address Re-activation/Reset Procedure

This is to inform all the students of the Lagos State University (LASU) that the Directorate of ICT has published the procedure to follow to re-activation/Reset their email addresses.

LASU Email Address Re-activation/Reset Procedure

The Directorate of ICT has recently been receiving requests from students on Re-activation/Reset of their school email addresses as they have forgotten the password earlier used. The Directorate, in a bid to ensure stress-free email usage has come up with the following as a self-help process on issues bothering the activated email account.

Students are advised to identify the appropriate category and follow the steps below:

Activation of LASU Student’s Official Email Account  (All the procedures below are to be carried out on a computer system)

CATEGORY “A” For those that have NOT activated their account at all

1. Login into your registration portal at studentservices.lasu.edu.ng/returningstudents

2. After successful login, Click on WIRELESS & EMAIL to see your email address and temporary password

3. Browse the Url : mail.google.com and enter the email address and click on the NEXT

4. Enter the temporary password

5. Read and Accept the Terms and Conditions

6. You will be requested to create your own *PASSWORD (minimum of 8 characters)*

7. You will also be requested to supply your GSM number/alternative email address for recovery activation

8. Please keep your password very safe and only to yourself.

9. Login with the password and username and continue to enjoy your email.

CATEGORY “B” For those that have already activated their account, but have FORGOTTEN the password

1. Login into your registration portal at studentservices.lasu.edu.ng/returningstudents (http://studentservices.lasu.edu.ng/returningstudents)

2. After successful login, Click on WIRELESS & EMAIL to see your email address

3. Browse the Url : mail.google.com and enter the email address and click on the NEXT

4. Click on Forgot password?

5. The system will prompt you to “Enter the last password you remember using with this Google Account”

6. You are required to enter any password you have previously used to open the email account

7. Then Click on the Next,

8. A verification code will be sent to the GSM number initially registered with the email account on the first activation. 

9. By supplying the verification code, a page to enter new password will display

10. You will be requested to create your own PASSWORD (minimum of 8 characters) 

11. You can now login with the New password and username, and continue to enjoy your email

CATEGORY “C” (For those that have already activated their account, but could not remember any of the previously used password)

1. Login into your registration portal at studentservices.lasu.edu.ng/returningstudents (http://studentservices.lasu.edu.ng/returningstudents)

2. After successful login, Click on WIRELESS & EMAIL to see your email address

3. Send a mail to mailsupport@lasu.edu.ng and state the following:

• MATRIC NUMBER:
• LASU STUDENT OFFICIAL EMAIL ADDRESS:
• YOUR PERSONAL GSM NUMBER:
• YOUR PERSONAL NON-LASU EMAIL ADDRESS:
• FACULTY:
• DEPARTMENT:

4. Await response to your email within 5 working days.
