Essential service officers will be informed if required to work. Normal university operations resume on June 30, 2023. Happy Id-el Kabir to all!
The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, aligns with the Federal Government’s declaration of public holidays on Wednesday and Thursday, June 28 and 29, 2023, to mark the annual Id-el Kabir celebrations. The University has consequently decided to close its doors for normal business on these days, making an exception for essential service providers who will be informed of their duties in due course.
Federal Government’s Declaration for Id-El Kabir
In keeping with the annual custom, the Federal Government has announced public holidays on Wednesday and Thursday, June 28 and 29, 2023. The holidays are to honor and celebrate this year’s Id-el Kabir, one of the major festivals in the Muslim calendar.
LAUTECH’s Adherence to Public Holiday Notice
In adherence to the Federal Government’s directive, LAUTECH will not be open for regular business during these public holidays. While the University’s primary concern is to respect and recognize the significance of the Id-el Kabir celebration, it also seeks to provide all staff and students the opportunity to take part in the festivities, regardless of their religious affiliations.
Essential Services Remain Operational
Despite the closure of the University for regular business, LAUTECH acknowledges the need for the continuity of certain essential services. Therefore, all officers responsible for these services will be required to be on duty during the period. They will be informed about their duties in the usual manner, ensuring that the University’s critical operations are maintained throughout the public holidays.
University to Resume Business on Friday, June 30, 2023
After observing the two-day public holiday, LAUTECH will resume for normal business on Friday, June 30, 2023. This resumption is planned in such a way to allow the University to recognize the Id-el Kabir celebration and also limit the disruption of academic and administrative activities.
Acting Vice Chancellor’s Wishes for Id-El Kabir
On behalf of the Acting Vice Chancellor, the University extends heartfelt wishes to all staff and students for the Id-el Kabir celebrations. They hope this break provides a joyous time of celebration and offers a chance for relaxation before the University’s activities resume.
In conclusion, LAUTECH joins the Federal Government in marking the Id-el Kabir celebration with the announcement of public holidays for its staff and students. The University plans to ensure the continuity of essential services and will resume normal business operations on Friday, June 30, 2023.
