Maduka University addresses false security claims

Maduka University has raised concern about a video spreading online that claims Fulani bandit settlements exist near the campus. The university states that this claim is false and part of repeated attempts over the past three years to create fear among students, parents and the wider community.
The video wrongly suggests that criminal groups operate close to the campus. The university explains that this is not true. Maduka University says the campus is safe, well guarded and protected by proper security arrangements. Students, staff and visitors continue their daily activities without threat.

Members of the public are asked to ignore this alarm. Teaching, learning and campus life continue as normal in a calm and safe setting. The university also confirms ongoing contact with recognised security agencies to keep the area secure.
The management asks people to stay calm, avoid spreading rumours and rely only on updates shared through official university channels.
Clarifying the Death of a Nursing Student
Maduka University also addresses reports online about the sad death of a nursing student. Many of the claims shared are inaccurate and the university provides a clear account of events.
The student arrived at the university medical centre already unwell. She was brought in by the university ambulance, not by friends and not on foot. Claims that a diclofenac injection was given are untrue. No such drug was administered.
She arrived at about 9:30 p.m. and was seen straight away by the doctor on duty. Medical checks were carried out, suitable treatment was given and a working diagnosis was made using standard emergency care steps. At that point, she showed signs of improvement and was kept under close watch with full nursing care through the night.
At around 4:00 a.m., her condition changed suddenly. Nurses noticed this at once and informed the on-call doctor. She was then moved quickly by the university's round-the-clock ambulance service to another hospital for further emergency care.
Claims that the doctor drove the ambulance are false. The transfer was handled by trained ambulance staff, as is normal practice.
The university also explains that the student had an existing long-term medical condition that had not been disclosed before the emergency. This condition played a major role in what followed.
The university shares in the grief of the student's family and friends and recognises the loss of a young life with promise. Reports suggesting neglect, wrong treatment or abandonment do not reflect the actions taken by the medical team.
Maduka University states its ongoing commitment to student welfare and medical care and confirms cooperation with the family during this difficult time. The management also expresses concern that such a painful event has been used to harm the school's reputation without first seeking facts from those involved.
