MAUTECH Postgraduate Admission Form 2025/2026

Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), Yola, has opened its doors to new postgraduate applicants. If you're eyeing a PGD, Master's or PhD, the School of Postgraduate Studies says now is the time to apply.

Programmes Available

From Postgraduate Diplomas to Master's and full PhD programmes, there's a wide range of study options. You can check the full list of courses on the MAUTECH postgraduate courses page.

Who Can Apply?

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

To qualify, you'll need one of the following:

• A degree (Third Class or above) from MAU Yola or any approved university
• An HND with at least Lower Credit (CGPA 3.50 on a 5-point scale)
• Other relevant qualifications accepted by the university's board

Some departments might ask for extra tests or interviews.

Master's Degree

To get in, you should have:

• A first degree (Second Class or higher) in a relevant subject
• A PGD (Lower Credit or better) if your first degree was Third Class or you hold an HND
• You may also need to pass a qualifying exam, depending on the course

M.Phil.

Applicants need:

• A Master's degree with at least 3.0 CGPA on a 5-point scale or 50% WAM
• Some departments may ask for a qualifying exam

PhD

For direct PhD entry:

• You must hold a Master's degree with CGPA of 3.50 or above
• M.Phil. holders with the same CGPA may also apply
• Only degrees from recognised universities will be accepted

General Admission Rules

To qualify, you must have:

• At least five relevant subjects at credit level, including English and Maths
• If you finished your first degree before 2004, you might be allowed with a pass in Maths or English

Departments may also run extra tests before final approval.

Programme Duration

Here's how long each programme takes (full-time only):

PGD

• Minimum: 2 semesters
• Maximum: 4 semesters

Professional Master's (MBA, MPA, etc.)

• Minimum: 2 semesters
• Maximum: 4 semesters

M.Sc.

• Minimum: 3 semesters
• Maximum: 6 semesters

M.Phil.

• Minimum: 2 semesters
• Maximum: 4 semesters

PhD

• Minimum: 6 semesters
• Maximum: 10 semesters

How to Apply

To start your application:

1. Visit the MAUTECH postgraduate portal
2. Create a Candidate Account with your mobile number
3. Buy the application form (₦15,000) using that same number
4. Fill and review the form before submitting
5. Print two copies of the completed form
6. Attach photocopies of your credentials to both copies
7. Submit them to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies

Transcript Notice

Applicants must:

• Fill the online transcript request form
• Contact their previous schools to send official transcripts, along with the filled request form, to:

No transcript, no processing. That's final.
