Modibbo Adama University (MAUTECH) Introduces New Faculties
Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH) has established three new faculties and introduced 18 degree programmes. Learn more about this expansion.
The Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH) has announced the creation of three new faculties. This development aligns with the university’s mission to enhance its academic scope and provide greater opportunities for students.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibrahim Umar, approved these faculties to diversify the university’s academic programmes and strengthen its reputation as a leading institution.
Newly Established Faculties
The university has introduced the Faculty of Communication, the Faculty of Arts, and the Faculty of Computing.
These faculties will introduce 18 new degree programmes aimed at meeting current educational and professional demands.
The Faculty of Communication will offer programmes such as Mass Communication, Broadcasting, Information and Media Science, Strategic Communication, Public Relations, Advertising, and Film and Multimedia Studies.
The Faculty of Arts will include programmes such as English Language, Language and Linguistics, Arabic Studies, Religious Studies, and Language and Communication Arts.
The Faculty of Computing will focus on modern technological fields, including Cybersecurity, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence.
Advancements in Infrastructure and Research
The university has also secured key intervention programmes supported by the World Bank and the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The World Bank will establish a state-of-the-art Artificial Insemination Centre (AIC) on the university campus in Yola.
This centre aims to advance animal husbandry, enhance animal species, and improve protein production through meat and milk.
The university signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of the centre.
The Federal Government has approved substantial funding for infrastructure development at MAUTECH.
The Federal Ministry of Water Resources has also granted approval for the installation of an industrial borehole with a storage capacity of 40,000 litres.
These projects aim to address water and resource needs while supporting academic growth.
