Admission Routes for NBU Applicants

Nigerian British University accepts applications from different categories of candidates.

Each applicant should read the route that fits their background before filling out the form; this helps the candidate know the documents and results required for the chosen programme.

Nigerian Applicants

Nigerian applicants need at least five Ordinary Level credit passes.

The credits must come from SSCE, WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, NABAIS or an equivalent examination, and they must cover relevant subjects. The result should come from no more than two sittings.

Candidates also need an acceptable UTME score as specified by JAMB.

Foreign Applicants

Foreign applicants should provide matching examination results.

They also need academic transcripts from their previous high schools.

Transfer and Direct Entry Applicants

Transfer and Direct Entry candidates must hold one approved qualification before applying.

The accepted options listed by NBU include OND, NCE, HND, A Level GCE, JUPEB, IJMB or any other higher qualification approved and recognised by JAMB.

How to Apply for Nigerian British University Admission

Candidates should first choose the programme they want to study.

After that, they should confirm the admission rules for their category, check the entry requirements for the selected course, and fill out the online form with correct details.

Applicants can complete the form through the NBU application link provided for the admission exercise. They should review every entry before submission, since names, results, contact details and programme choices must match the documents they plan to present.

What Happens After Submission?

NBU says the admissions committee will review submitted applications.

Admission decisions are usually sent by email within a few weeks; candidates may also receive updates on their application status, extra documents, or any further information needed.

Successful candidates will receive a Provisional Admission letter.

The letter will state the next steps, including how to accept the offer and pay the stated acceptance fee.

After Accepting the Admission Offer

Candidates who accept their Provisional Admission offer should follow the instructions given by the university.

After acceptance and fee payment, they will receive an onboarding checklist to help them prepare for the next stage.

NBU Admission Help Desk

Candidates who need help during the application process can contact the Student Experience Office or Admissions Office.
