2025 NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme

The 2025 NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme supports bright first year students in Nigerian universities. Through this scheme, NLNG helps young people focus on their studies while easing some of the cost of higher education.
The scholarship is open to eligible undergraduates for the 2025/2026 academic session who meet clear academic and personal requirements.

About the NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme
The 2025 Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme is part of NLNG support for education and human capital development in Nigeria.
The scheme is set up to:
- Reward strong academic performance
- Support students who are fully enrolled in public universities
- Help build a pool of graduates who can contribute to national growth
The award is only for first degree students in federal and state owned universities in Nigeria.
Who can apply for the 2025 scholarship
Applicants must meet all of the following conditions:
- Be a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and currently living in the country
- Be a full time first year undergraduate student in the 2025/2026 academic session
- Study at a federal or state owned university in Nigeria
- Have at least five O'Level credits in one sitting (WASC, SSCE or NECO), including Mathematics and English
- Score a minimum of 200 in the JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)
- Be between 18 and 25 years old at the time of application
- Not be receiving any other scholarship, bursary or grant from any organisation
- Not be a spouse, child, ward or direct relative of an NLNG staff member
Only candidates who meet every listed requirement will be considered during the selection process.
Step by step application guide
Online application on the NLNG scholarship portal
All applications are completed online. Candidates should:

Applicants should take care to avoid errors, as wrong details may affect screening.
Documents to upload
Each applicant must upload clear scanned copies of:
- A recent passport photograph (no glasses)
- WAEC, NECO or SSCE result showing at least five credits in one sitting, including Mathematics and English
- JAMB UTME result slip
- JAMB admission letter
- Local Government Area identification
- Birth certificate
Only complete applications with all required documents and a valid email address will move to the next stage.
Test, screening and award process
Eligible applicants who pass the first screening stage will be invited to take a computer based online proctored selection test.
Key points about the process:
- Only shortlisted candidates receive test invitations
- Test details will be sent by email, so candidates should check their inbox and spam folders often
- After the test, qualified candidates will be asked to submit an extra set of mandatory documents for further checks
- Scholarships will be awarded only to candidates who meet all conditions and pass every stage of the selection process
Applicants should keep their phones and email accounts active and secure throughout the period.

The 2025 NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme runs within a fixed time frame:

- Closing date: 12 December 2025, 11:59 p.m. (WAT)
Applications submitted after the deadline will not be processed. Students are encouraged to complete their forms and uploads well before the closing time to avoid late submission problems.
