NMCN Releases Results for General/Post-Basic Nursing Exams 2025
The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria has released the May 2025 results for professional nursing exams. This article shows who passed, how to check results and what to do next—keep reading if you took part or know someone who did.
The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) has announced the official release of results for the May 2025 Professional Examination in General and Post-Basic Nursing programmes. Approval was given by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare.
In total, 13,880 candidates passed, which means a 76% pass rate across all nursing programmes. If you took part in this exam, you can now check your result and begin the next steps for registration and licensing.

Here is the full breakdown of how many candidates passed in each category:
- General Nursing Programme
9,472 passed — 83% pass rate - Post-Basic Nursing Programmes
2,397 passed — 62% pass rate - Foreign Trained Nurses (FTN)
364 passed — 53% pass rate - Refresher Programme
81 passed — 44% pass rate - Community Nursing Programme
1,566 passed — 77% pass rate

Follow the next steps after checking your result
Heads of nursing training institutions can access their school's results online starting from Monday 12th May, 2025.
If your result shows that you passed, follow these steps:
- Visit the NMCN Portal to start your online registration and licensing.
- Complete all registration steps, including fee payment, within 90 days.
- If you register after the 90-day window, you will pay a late fee of ₦16,250.
Act quickly to avoid late fees
NMCN has made it clear that late registration attracts a penalty, so be sure to apply on time. Registration is fully online and your details must be correct before payment is made.
