NWU Kano registration guide for 2025/2026 newly admitted students

Northwest University, Kano, has announced that registration for the 2025/2026 academic session will begin on Monday, 23 March 2026 and end on Saturday, 26 April 2026.

All newly admitted students are expected to follow a four-stage process to complete their documentation. The steps cover faculty screening, medicals, portal registration, course registration, and final clearance; each stage has its own task.

Registration dates

The registration exercise will run from Monday, 23 March 2026 to Saturday, 26 April 2026.

Candidates who do not appear within this period will be considered not interested in the admission.

Stage 1: Faculty screening and medicals

The first stage begins at the faculty level.

Credential screening

Students are to visit their respective faculties for screening of O’level credentials and JAMB UTME subjects.

Medical certificate

Students are also to proceed to the University Clinic for their Medical Certificate. This will be based on dates assigned to each faculty.

Stage 2: Portal registration and payments

The second stage covers portal access, payment, and faculty documentation.

Portal access

Students are to visit the University Portal and click on “New Registration”.

Invoice and payment

They are to print the payment invoice and pay the registration charges through NABROLL.

Payment receipt

After payment, students are to return to the portal and print the official Payment Receipt.

Faculty documentation

Students are then to go back to their Faculty registration point with these documents:

Stage 3: Course registration

The third stage covers course registration for both UTME and Direct Entry candidates.

UTME students

UTME students are to access the University Portal and print their Course Registration Form, CRF.

Direct Entry students

Direct Entry candidates are to go to their department to copy their courses and credit loads for upload on the portal.

Authentication

After the upload, students are to return to the portal for final course registration and meet their Level Coordinator for authentication of the CRF.

Stage 4: Final documentation and ID card

The last stage moves to final records and student services.

Directorate of DEAR

Students are to visit the Directorate for documentation with all listed registration documents.

Student Affairs

They are to proceed to the Student Affairs Division for their ID Card.

University Library

They are also to complete registration at the University Library.

Documents required at DEAR

Candidates are required to come to the Directorate of Examinations, Admissions, and Records, DEAR, with originals and four copies of all credentials.

The listed documents are:

  1. JAMB Admission Letter
  2. Original ‘A’ level statement of result(s) for DE candidates
  3. Original ‘O’ level statement of result(s) for both UTME and DE candidates
  4. Transcript of Academic Records for Ordinary Diploma and National Diploma candidates
  5. Original Primary School Leaving Certificate or Testimonial
  6. Original Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age
  7. Original Indigene Identification Certificate or Attestation
  8. Duly completed undertaking form
  9. Two recent passport-size photographs with white background
  10. Duly completed candidate Screening form
  11. Letter of Reference
  12. Medical Certificate
  13. Bio-data form
  14. Acceptance Confirmation letter

Students are also told to upload the same passport photograph to the Registration Portal for the ID Card.

Notes for candidates

Candidates should come to the screening point with both originals and photocopies of all listed documents.

The screening exercise starts on Monday, 23 March 2026 and ends on Saturday, 26 April 2026.

Candidates whose original O’Level certificates are not available at the time of screening may present an original online printout result slip.

What new students should keep in mind

The process is clear, though it has many steps; each admitted student is expected to move from Faculty screening to medicals, then Portal payment, then course registration, and finally DEAR documentation, Student Affairs, and Library registration.

Every Paper matters here. Missing the dates or appearing without the required records can affect the process.
