Join RecycleUp Nigeria 2024: Empowering Young Innovators for a Circular Economy

It is with this perspective that I turn our focus to a groundbreaking initiative, RecycleUp Nigeria 2024, designed to empower and nurture the next generation of environmentally conscious innovators and entrepreneurs. This six-month innovation programme is a beacon of hope and action, aimed at addressing Nigeria's pressing waste problem and catalysing the transition towards a circular economy.

Understanding the RecycleUp Nigeria Initiative

RecycleUp Nigeria is more than just a programme; it's a movement towards creating a cleaner, more prosperous and environmentally responsible nation. By focusing on key sectors such as the Built Environment, Organic Material and Biowaste, Energy, Electronics and ICT, Packaging and Plastics, Textiles, Water and Food and Agriculture, the initiative aims to drive Nigeria's transition towards a circular economy by an ambitious 200% by 2025.

What the Programme Offers

The benefits of participating in RecycleUp Nigeria are manifold:

• Comprehensive Education and Training: Participants will gain in-depth knowledge on circular economy principles, sustainable waste management and environmental sustainability.
• Mentorship: Access to experienced mentors will provide invaluable guidance and support throughout the programme.
• Networking Opportunities: Engaging with like-minded individuals and experts in the field opens doors to future opportunities and collaborations.
• Funding and Investment: Selected participants will have the chance to secure funding or investment for their circular economy projects, turning innovative ideas into tangible realities.

Eligibility Criteria

To be a part of this transformative journey, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be a Nigerian aged between 21 and 40 years.
• Have a genuine interest and passion for the circular economy and a desire to contribute to sustainable development in Nigeria.
• Demonstrate leadership potential and a strong commitment to making a positive impact in their communities.
• Be ready to commit at least 5 hours weekly and actively participate in the programme.
• Have access to a reliable internet connection, data and necessary technology devices for virtual activities and meetings.
