The Sani Bello Foundation has announced applications for its 2026 scholarship programme for eligible indigenes of Zone C, Niger State. Candidates should check the requirements carefully; the rules are specific, and the screening steps are not optional (yes, really).
Who can apply (eligibility rules)
To qualify, an applicant must meet all the conditions below.
1) Zone C indigene requirement
The applicant must be an indigene of Zone C, Niger State. This can be by origin, birth, or by having parents/guardians who have resided in Kontagora for 15 years and above.
2) School enrolment in Nigeria
The applicant must be a registered student at a recognised public tertiary school within Nigeria.
3) Full-time study only
The applicant must be a full-time student. Part-time students are not eligible.
4) Public schools only
Applicants from private schools or foreign schools/countries are not eligible.
5) Academic level
The applicant must be in the second year of study at the time of application (200 Level).
6) O-level result requirement
The applicant must have at least five (5) credits in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB, including Mathematics and English Language. The result must be from not more than two sittings.
7) Minimum GPA
Applicants must have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0.
8) Employment status
Civil servants are not eligible for this scholarship.
Documents the applicant must have (original copies)
Applicants must have original copies of these documents:
- Birth certificate or Declaration of Age
- Local Government Indigene Letter
- O-level result
- Secondary school testimonial
- Transcript or Result Statement, duly signed and stamped, stating the previous session’s CGPA
(Keep them intact; missing pages can spoil the process.)
Screening submission requirements (in-person)
For screening, applicants must present copies of all credentials listed above, plus:
- Online registration printout
- Admission Letter
- School Identity printout or a valid means of school identification
- Photocopy of departmental course registration forms
These documents must be submitted in person on or before March 1, 2026. Screening starts once the documents are submitted; candidates should submit in person, as stated.

Interested and qualified candidates should submit the online application via the portal: Sani Bello Foundation scholarship portal.
All online applications must be completed and submitted by January 31, 2026.
