Key facts at a glance

What the false TASFUED closure story claims

The false report says that TASFUED has closed the campus because of a recent bandit invasion of Ijebu-Ode.
It also suggests that students have been told to leave their hostels in Ijagun and Ijebu-Ode.

The University Management clearly states that no such order has been given. At no time has the management asked students to vacate their hostels due to any form of invasion. The story is described as false, misleading and likely made to cause fear in the university community and in the state.

Campus remains open and calm

The university is open. Lectures, tests and other academic tasks are going on as planned. Offices are open and staff members are carrying out normal duties.

The University Management repeats that Ijebu-Ode and Ijagun are peaceful areas. There is no ongoing security attack on the university. Students, staff, parents, alumni and the wider public are encouraged to stay calm and keep faith in the official message.

Safety and student welfare

Student welfare is a top priority for the University Management. Any real threat to safety would be handled with clear and timely notice through the proper channels.

At this time:

Students are encouraged to attend classes, read and take part in normal campus life. Staff members are encouraged to keep doing their lawful duties as usual.

Official TASFUED communication channels

For correct updates on any matter that concerns the university, the public should rely only on official communication channels managed by TASFUED.

These may include:

Students and staff are encouraged to look out for these formal messages rather than relying on screenshots or quoted posts with no clear source.
