UNIABUJA End-of-Year Break Notice

University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has announced an approved end of year break for staff and students. The notice applies to academic and administrative activities across the university. The break is set to allow members of the campus community time for rest during the festive period, while clear dates have been given to guide planning.

Approved End of Year Break at UNIABUJA

The University Management has approved the closure of the university for all academic and administrative activities from Wednesday, 17 December 2025 to Sunday, 4 January 2026. During this period, lectures, official meetings and office duties will not hold.

Normal activities at the university will resume on Monday, 5 January 2026. Students and staff are expected to return and continue their duties from that date.

Staff assigned to essential services are exempt from this break. These include personnel from the Safety Unit, Health Services, Works and Services and other essential departments and units. Such staff are required to remain at their duty posts throughout the break period.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, acting on behalf of the Council, Senate and Management, has extended Christmas greetings and best wishes for the New Year to both staff and students of University of Abuja (UNIABUJA).
