UNICROSS Directs NELFUND Loan Beneficiaries to Verify Loan Status and Collect School Fee Receipts (Circular Dated 9 Jan 2026)

The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has issued an internal circular reminding students who benefited from the Federal Government NELFUND Loan Scheme to complete loan verification and collect their school fee payment receipts.

Dated January 9, 2026, the notice is signed by the University Bursar, Mr. Wilson Anyiom, MSc, CCA; it addresses steps for beneficiaries whose applications have already been approved and funded.

What the circular says about approvals and disbursements

The circular states that some students have already received approval under the NELFUND loan process, and that disbursements have been made.

UNICROSS also states that several beneficiaries are either unaware of their approval status or do not know the proper steps to confirm the loan and obtain the relevant school fee receipts (a small gap, but a real one).

Where students must go, and what to do there

The circular directs all concerned students to proceed to the ICT Unit of the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) to verify their loan status and collect their official school fee payment receipts.

The instruction is direct: students are to report to the ICT Unit, then Confirm their status, then collect the receipt issued for school fees.

Validation and the official list of school fees paid

The circular states that the University will validate NELFUND loan disbursements only for students who comply with the directive.

It also states that only those compliant students will have their names included on the official list of students recorded as having paid their school fees.
