UNIDEL Announces Maiden Convocation Date (Agbor)

The management of the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor, has fixed Saturday, 21 February 2026 as the date for the university's maiden convocation ceremony.

A circular signed by the Registrar, Richmond Omagbemi (Esq), set out the key activities; the university community is expected to follow the directive.

Academic Procession Time and Format

The circular stated that the grand finale will commence with an academic Procession at 9:00 a.m.

All members of the University Council, Senate and Congregation are required to take part in the procession, fully dressed in approved academic gowns.

Academic Gowns for Graduating Students

UNIDEL directed faculty officers to collect academic gowns for graduating students of their respective faculties from the Central Stores on Wednesday, 19 February 2026, by 12 noon.

Faculty officers are also expected to ensure students maintain good Conduct throughout the ceremony; the instruction covers the full event.

Misconduct and Penalties

The university warned that any form of misconduct capable of bringing the university's name into disrepute will attract stiff penalties, in line with the university's rules and Regulations. Who wants a ceremony day to end in sanctions?
