The United Organisation for Education and Sports Development (UOESD) has opened registration for the 12th edition of its National Quiz Competition for Junior Secondary School students (JSS 1-3) across Nigeria.
UOESD states that the quiz aims to build academic strength, critical thinking and national awareness among young learners; the entry process is free and schools can register as many students as they want.

Who Can Take Part
The competition is open to:
- Junior Secondary School students (JSS 1, JSS 2 and JSS 3)
- Public, private and missionary schools
There is no limit on the number of participants from a school; a school may register all its JSS 1-3 students.
Registration Fee
Registration is free; no payment is stated for entry.
Subjects to Be Tested
Participants will be assessed in these subjects:
- English Language
- Igbo Language
- Mathematics
- Current Affairs
- Civic Education
Competition Schedule
First Round (Online)
- Date: Saturday, 21st Feb 2026
- Time: 9:00am to 9:00pm
- Mode: online
- Quiz link: available on the UOESD website on the competition day via UOESD website for quiz access
Participants can take the quiz once within the stated time frame; one attempt only, so timing matters.
Results and Shortlisting
- Results publication: 30th March, 2026
- Top-scoring participants will be contacted and moved to the Grand Finale; only shortlisted finalists proceed to the final round
Awards and Recognition
Round One Performance Awards
- 90 to 100: Gold Award
- 80 to 89: Silver Award
- 70 to 79: Bronze Award
Grand Finale Awards
Winners and finalists will receive:
- Cash rewards
- Trophies
- Certificates of Accomplishment
