Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic Holds Risk, Safety and Security Management Seminar for ND I and HND I Students (15–16 January 2026)

The management of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Ikot Ekpene has announced a compulsory seminar on Risk, Safety and Security Management for ND I (Full-Time and Akwapoly Consult) and HND I students.

The circular, issued by the Office of the Registrar and dated 8 January 2026, sets out the dates, venue, and the student groups expected to attend; it also links attendance to certification.

Date and venue

The seminar is scheduled for Thursday, 15 January to Friday, 16 January 2026. The venue is the New Auditorium (TETFund 2019/2020).

Attendance and certificates

Attendance is required. The circular states that certificates will be issued only to students who attend the seminar (a point that leaves little room for misunderstanding).

The circular divides attendance by level and school, with the same time blocks used on both days.

Thursday, 15 January 2026: ND I students

• Applied Sciences, Engineering Technology, Environmental Studies: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
• Communication Arts, Business & Management: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Friday, 16 January 2026: HND I students

• Applied Sciences, Engineering Technology, Environmental Studies: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
• Communication Arts, Business & Management: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Lecture, test, and examination-free days

Management also stated that each day allocated to a particular school has been declared lecture, test, and examination-free for the affected ND I and HND I students. This applies on the day assigned to each school; students are expected to attend the seminar within that schedule.
