General Admission Requirements

To apply for any of the postgraduate programmes, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Five (5) Credits at SSCE (WAEC/NECO/ GCE ‘O’ Level), NABTEB, or their equivalents, including English Language and Mathematics, in no more than two sittings.
  • NYSC certificate or exemption letter for all postgraduate programmes.

Specific Programme Requirements

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

  • First Degree not lower than Third Class Honours in relevant fields.
  • HND in relevant field.
  • Relevant professional qualification.

Master Degree (M.Eng, M.Sc., MA, MPA, MBA)

  • Minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree from a recognised University.
  • Relevant Postgraduate Diploma at credit level.
  • Relevant professional qualification equivalent to the above.

Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.)

  • Master Degree with a weighted average score of at least 50% (CGPA of not less than 3.0 on a 5-point scale).

PhD Programme

  • Master’s degree with a weighted average score of 60% and above (CGPA of not less than 4.0 on a 5-point scale).
  • Candidates with scores between 55% and 59% (CGPA of at least 3.5 on a 5-point scale) may be required to register for the M.Phil/Ph.D. programme.
  • Submit a concept note/research proposal of no more than 450 words with the application.

Programme Duration

  • Postgraduate Diploma: Minimum of two (2) semesters and a maximum of four (4) semesters.
  • Master Degree: Minimum of three (3) to four (4) semesters and a maximum of six (6) semesters.
  • Master of Philosophy: Minimum of two (2) semesters and a maximum of four (4) semesters.
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD): Minimum of six (6) semesters and a maximum of ten (10) semesters.
