Official WAEC Timetable 2026: May/June School Candidates

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the timetable for the 2026 May/June West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.

The timetable covers candidates in Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia and The Gambia.

WAEC Exam Date: When WASSCE 2026 starts and ends

The 2026 WASSCE starts on Tuesday, 7 April 2026.

The examination ends on Friday, 19 June 2026.

That date range gives candidates a full exam season to track. Some days carry more than one paper, while others include practicals or sessions arranged separately by the Council. That Small detail can shape revision plans.

Where question paper time differs

Where the duration on the question paper is different from the timetable, candidates should follow the time printed on the question paper.

Papers given out before the exam date

Visual Art 3

• Paper 3A: Instructions will be given to schools two weeks before the paper is due
• Paper 3B: Question paper will be given to candidates two weeks before the paper is due
• Paper 3C: Candidates will execute their projects within six months of the examination year; the Council will communicate the submission period to schools

Extra time for blind, deaf and dumb candidates

Blind, deaf and dumb candidates should be allowed one and half times the time given to other candidates.

Simple exam tips

• Candidates should start revising early instead of leaving study to the last minute.
• Candidates should use past questions to get used to exam patterns.
• Candidates should eat well, sleep enough and take short breaks during revision.

• Any suspicious gadget
