OAU Pre-Degree Admission Form 2026/2027

Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has invited applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its Pre-Degree Programme for the 2026/2027 session.

Eligibility

Eligible candidates must have at least five credits in five subjects in not more than two sittings.

The subject requirements include:

• English Language for ALL courses
• Mathematics for science-based and social science-based courses
• Literature-in-English for Law

Duration of the programme

The programme normally runs for two contact periods within nine calendar months.

Available subject combinations

English Language is compulsory for all candidates.

Arts

• Government / Literature in English / Religious Studies (GLR)
• Economics / Government / Literature in English (EGL)

Biological Sciences

• Biology / Chemistry / Physics (BCP)

Physical Sciences

• Chemistry / Mathematics / Physics (CMP)
• Geography / Mathematics / Physics (GMP)

Social Sciences

• Economics / Government / Mathematics (EGM)
• Mathematics / Geography / Economics (MGE)

The listed subject combinations meet the requirements, as applicable, for admission into ALL degree programmes in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

How to apply

Application is strictly online through the OAU Pre-Degree application portal.

Applicants must fill and submit the form online either immediately or within two weeks of accessing the website; downloaded or printed copies will not be accepted.

Entrance exam and other application notes

The Pre-Degree entrance exam will be computer-based; candidates are advised to familiarise themselves with basic computer use.

Applicants should check the website from time to time for the actual date of the entrance exam and other relevant information.

All candidates are required to register for the 2027 UTME during the programme.

Each applicant must use a valid e-mail address and a PERSONAL telephone number.

The Pre-Degree entrance exam holds at Ile-Ife Centre and at a centre in Ikeja, Lagos State.

Candidates should follow the application instructions very carefully and choose the Correct subject combination. One wrong choice can affect the application.

Application closes on 30 June 2026.
