TASFUED Appoints Prof. Samuel Ekundayo Oladipo as Vice Chancellor

The Governing Council of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education has appointed Prof. Samuel Ekundayo Oladipo as the new Vice Chancellor. His appointment takes effect from 5 May 2026.

The University states that he assumes office as the 3rd indigenous Vice Chancellor and the 6th substantive Vice Chancellor of Nigeria’s Premier University of Education.

What the Council said

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Rahamon Adisa Bello, announced the appointment at the end of the Council meeting. He praised Prof. Oladipo’s track record and described his emergence as a product of merit, doggedness and dedication to the founding ethos of the University.

Profile of Prof. Samuel Ekundayo Oladipo

Prof. Oladipo is a Professor of Social Psychology and a foundation faculty member of TASUED. The University says he brings decades of academic work, administrative skill and a deep commitment to value-driven Education to the office.

He was born on 29 June 1969 into the family of late Mr. and Mrs. Amos Oladipo of Agbaakin Compound, Akinmoorin, Oyo State.

Academic and career history

Prof. Oladipo joined Tai Solarin College of Education in 1999. He became a foundation faculty member when the College was upgraded to TASUED in 2005. He rose to the rank of Professor in October 2014.

He also held a sabbatical appointment at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship at North-West University, Mafikeng, South Africa, from 2013 to 2015.

He is also a recipient of the National Research Fund.

The University states that Prof. Oladipo has over 70 peer-reviewed journal articles, 10 edited academic books, many book chapters and over 15 Christian books to his credit.

He also recently completed a TETFund-sponsored research project on Development and Validation of Psycho-Educational Counselling Intervention Programme for Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse in Nigeria.
