Key dates for UNICAL supplementary examinations

UNICAL fixed 11 May 2026 as the start date for the supplementary examinations.

The university also set 30 April 2026 as the deadline for submission of applications. Students who miss that date risk disqualification; the notice made that point clear.

Who can apply

The university listed the cases that may qualify a student for the supplementary examinations.

Ill health during the examination period

A student may apply where ill health affected participation during the examination period. Such an application must include a medical report endorsed by the Director of Health Services.

Representation of the university at official events

A student who represented the university at official events during the examination period may also apply.

Death of a first-degree family member

The death of a first-degree family member is also listed as a ground for application.

Evidence of proper course registration

A student may still qualify where there is evidence of proper course registration for the session.

What students need to do

Eligible students are to submit their applications to the DVC (Academic) on or before 30 April 2026.

The notice places weight on meeting both the deadline and the stated conditions. Missing a requirement or filing late, could lead to disqualification.

Memo to faculties and departments

The memo was signed by Ekaette Enang, DVC (Academic).

It directed faculties and departments to give the notice wide circulation across student platforms and notice boards, so the message reaches those concerned fast and without confusion.

Final note on the UNICAL notice

This UNICAL update covers supplementary examinations for the first semester of 2025/2026 and the second semester of 2024/2025, Stream B. The key dates are already fixed; eligible students need to act before 30 April 2026.
