UNIPORT Academic Calendar 2024/2025 and 2025/2026

Essential Highlights

UNIPORT has released its revised academic calendar for full-time and Sandwich students.

  • First semester break runs from 4 to 15 May 2026.
  • Second semester lectures begin on 18 May 2026.
  • Second semester exams run from 31 August to 25 September 2026.
  • Sandwich lectures run from 13 July to 11 September 2026.
  • Senate will review results on the listed dates.

UNIPORT Academic Calendar for 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 Sessions

The University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT, has released the revised academic calendar for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions.

The calendar covers full-time students and the Sandwich Programme; it also gives dates for lectures, registration, examinations, SIWES, revision, vacation and Senate meetings.

First Semester Break

Full-time students will observe the first semester break from Monday, 4 May to Friday, 15 May 2026.

The break will last for two weeks.

On Wednesday, 27 May 2026, the Senate will hold an Extra-Ordinary Meeting to consider the First Semester 2025/2026 session results.

Second Semester Calendar for 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 Sessions

The second semester calendar starts with the return of students and runs through lectures, revision, examinations and vacation.

Students taking part in the Student Industrial Work Scheme, SIWES, will have their programme from May to October 2026.

Resumption and Lectures

All students will arrive on Sunday, 17 May 2026.

Academic activities will begin on Monday, 18 May 2026, and will continue until Friday, 14 August 2026. This gives students 13 weeks of academic work.

Lectures for all students will also begin on Monday, 18 May 2026.

Fees and Registration Dates

The deadline for payment of the second instalment charges is Friday, 19 June 2026.

Registration for the second instalment payment will close on Friday, 26 June 2026.

End of Lectures, SUG Week and Revision

Lectures will end on Friday, 14 August 2026.

Continuous Assessment scores will be submitted to the Academic Office on Friday, 16 August 2026.

The Students’ Union Government, SUG Week, will run from Monday, 17 August to Saturday, 22 August 2026.

Students will then have one week for revision, from Monday, 24 August to Friday, 28 August 2026.

Second Semester Examinations and Vacation

Second semester examinations will run for four weeks, from Monday, 31 August to Friday, 25 September 2026.

After the examinations, all students will proceed on long vacation from Monday, 28 September to Friday, 30 October 2026.

The Senate will hold an Extra-Ordinary Meeting on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, to consider the Second Semester 2025/2026 session results.

UNIPORT Sandwich Programme Calendar

The Sandwich Programme has its own schedule for registration, lectures, revision and examinations.

Fresh and returning Sandwich students will arrive from Monday, 6 July to Friday, 10 July 2026.

During that period, registration will begin, students will resume contact with Student Affairs, and fresh students will take part in orientation.

Sandwich Lectures

Lectures for all Sandwich students will begin on Monday, 13 July 2026.

The lecture period will run for nine weeks, from Monday, 13 July to Friday, 11 September 2026.

Continuous Assessment scores will reach the Academic Office on Friday, 4 September 2026.

Lectures will end on Friday, 11 September 2026.

Sandwich Revision, Examinations and Senate Meeting

Sandwich students will revise for one week, from Monday, 14 September to Friday, 18 September 2026.

Examinations for all Sandwich students will run from Monday, 21 September to Saturday, 26 September 2026.

On Wednesday, 29 October 2026, the Senate will hold an Extra-Ordinary Meeting to consider the Sandwich Programme 2025 results.
