UNIUYO Resumption Date for 2nd Semester 2026

The University of Uyo, UNIUYO, has announced the resumption of studies for all undergraduate students in Years 1 to 5 and postgraduate students.
The second semester for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions will commence on Monday, 20 April 2026. The notice is clear; students across the listed levels are to take note of the Date and follow the schedule released by the University.
UNIUYO resumption schedule for students
UNIUYO also released the academic calendar tied to the resumption.
- 2 April 2026: End of first semester examinations for all students
- 6 April 2026 to 17 April 2026: First semester break for Years 1 to 5 students
- 20 April 2026: Commencement of second semester for 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 sessions
- 20 April 2026 to 8 May 2026: Registration without penalty
- 11 May 2026 to 22 May 2026: Registration with penalty
Lecture period, union week and revision
The lecture period for all undergraduate students in Years 1 to 5 and postgraduate students will run from 20 April 2026 to 10 July 2026.
After lectures, the schedule moves as follows:
- 13 July 2026 to 17 July 2026: Students' Union week
- 20 July 2026 to 24 July 2026: Revision exercise for Years 1 to 5 students
The sequence is laid out in plain terms; lecture period first, union week next, then revision.
UNIUYO examination and long vacation dates
The second semester examinations for Years 1 to 5 students will take place from 27 July 2026 to 21 August 2026.
After the examinations, the long vacation for all Years 1 to 5 students will run from 24 August 2026 to 2 October 2026.
Date for the next first semester
UNIUYO fixed 5 October 2026 as the commencement date for the first semester of the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 sessions.
That closing line in the calendar gives students one more fixed point to note; the next session begins on that date.
