BUK Proposed Undergraduate Calendar for 2025/2026 Session

Bayero University, Kano, has presented a reviewed undergraduate calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session. The draft, placed before Senate for consideration and approval, sets out the schedule for screening, registration, lectures, examinations and breaks.

What the proposed BUK calendar shows

The proposed timetable begins with online screening for fresh students in March 2026. It then moves into registration for new and returning students, first semester lectures, examinations, a short break, second semester lectures, final examinations and the end-of-session break.

The schedule ends with the beginning of a new session on Monday, 15 February, 2027.

Fresh students’ screening and registration dates

Fresh students are first on the line in the proposed calendar.

After that, fresh student registration follows.

Returning students also have a set window for registration.

First semester lecture and examination schedule

The proposed calendar gives 12 weeks for first semester lectures.

The GSP first semester examinations come up next.

Main first semester examinations follow straight after that.

Students then move into a short break.

Second semester lecture and examination schedule

The second semester lecture period also runs for 12 weeks.

The proposed calendar fixes the GSP second semester examinations for one week.

That is followed by the main second semester examinations.

End-of-session break and new session date

After the second semester examinations, the calendar sets out an end-of-session break.
