COOU Convocation 2026 Schedule and Full Programme of Events

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, COOU, has released the schedule for a full week of academic and commemorative activities. The line-up covers Founder’s Day, the 4th Memorial Lecture, an interdenominational service, the convocation lecture, and the 16th Convocation Ceremony for undergraduate and postgraduate graduands.

The week opens with a press conference on Tuesday, 21 April 2026, at 12:00 pm.

Founder’s Day and 4th Memorial Lecture

COOU will hold Founder’s Day and the 4th Memorial Lecture on Wednesday, 22 April 2026, at 10:00 am.

His Excellency Mr. Gautier Mignot, European Union Ambassador to Nigeria, will deliver the lecture at the ETF Auditorium, Igbariam Campus. The theme is “Sustainable and Climate Resilience Future: Beyond Rhetorics.”

Interdenominational service and Students Day

The next event comes up on Thursday, 23 April 2026, at 10:00 am.

The day will feature a special service and student engagement with the Vice-Chancellor at the ETF Auditorium, Igbariam Campus. It is a clear part of the week’s formal programme; the date and venue are already fixed.

Convocation lecture

The convocation lecture will take place on Friday, 24 April 2026, at 10:00 am.

16th convocation ceremony
