The Academy was established in honour of Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande, Lagos State's first civilian governor. LJLA says it prepares change-driven individuals by building technical expertise and a firm grounding in integrity, fresh thinking and public service.
The Academy also states that its mission is to develop young people into leaders who can tackle hard social challenges and drive change across different sectors. Through practical experience, mentorship and exposure to real-life issues, LJLA helps participants build critical thinking, ethical decision-making and resilience. That Aim sits at the centre of the fellowship.
