FUD Summer Programme for Students With Carry Overs and Spill Overs

Federal University Dutse (FUD) has introduced a summer programme for students with carry overs and spill overs.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ahmad Muhammed Gumel, announced the plan as part of moves to help affected students clear outstanding courses and graduate within the right period.

Why FUD Introduced the Summer Programme

The plan came after the Senate observed that many students may fail to graduate within their period of residency because of unresolved carry overs.

Professor Gumel said the summer programme would give such students another chance to remedy their outstanding courses; for students close to graduation, that extra academic window may help them avoid needless delays.

The matter received approval during the Vice-Chancellor’s maiden Senate meeting.

When the Programme Will Start

According to the university’s official weekly newsletter dated 10 May 2026, the programme will begin during the current academic session.

FUD will announce the operating details soon.

Message From the Vice-Chancellor

Professor Gumel urged students to take their studies seriously.

He also assured them that the university management would keep working to create a conducive learning environment, especially for students who need support to complete their academic work.

Students’ Union Reacts

The President of the Students’ Union Government, Comrade Isa Ibrahim, thanked the Vice-Chancellor for the programme.

He said the move would greatly assist students dealing with carry over and spill over challenges.

For now, affected FUD students should watch for the next official update on how the summer programme will run.
