The Federal Government has opened applications for the second cohort of the National Technical and Vocational Education and Training, TVET, Programme. The scheme is aimed at giving Nigerian youth practical skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and national development.
Maruf Tunji Alausa, Honourable Minister of Education, restated the government’s commitment to human capital development. He described the programme as a strategic intervention linked to the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
What the National TVET Programme Offers
The programme gives hands-on training through accredited centres across all states and the FCT. Participants will receive training for either 6 months or 1 year, depending on the option offered.
Each participant will also receive a monthly stipend of N22,500. At the end of training, successful participants will get nationally recognised certification.
That combination is clear; training, stipend, and certification sit at the centre of the programme.
