Abia State University has begun online screening for candidates seeking admission into its regular degree programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The screening covers UTME candidates, Direct Entry candidates and applicants who intend to change to Abia State University, subject to the eligibility conditions stated by the University.

Who Is The ABSU Post UTME/Direct Entry Screening Notice For?
The notice is for candidates who applied for undergraduate admission into regular degree programmes at Abia State University for the 2026/2027 academic session and it also covers candidates who did not first choose the University but now wish to do so.
Candidates in the following groups are covered:
- Candidates who chose Abia State University as first choice
- Candidates who chose Abia State University as second choice
- Candidates who did not choose the University during UTME but want to change to Abia State University
- Candidates who scored 150 and above in UTME
- Candidates with the required five O'level credit passes
- All Direct Entry candidates
What Is The Approved ABSU Screening Method?
The screening will be conducted online through document and result uploads.
Candidates are expected to upload their UTME scores, O'level results and degree certificates where applicable, to the ABSU Portal and the JAMB portal.
This means candidates should make sure that the records on both portals are correct and complete, since the screening process depends on the uploaded admission details.
What Are The ABSU Post UTME Eligibility Requirements?
Candidates must meet the stated admission screening conditions before they can be considered.
UTME candidates
UTME candidates must have scored 150 and above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and they must also possess the basic five O'level credit passes required for admission by the University.
Candidates who did not select Abia State University during UTME may still take part, but they are expected to change to Abia State University as their preferred University.
Direct Entry candidates
All Direct Entry candidates are covered by the screening notice.
Direct Entry candidates are also expected to upload relevant certificates where applicable, since the screening method includes degree certificates for candidates who fall within that category.
How Will Candidates Register For ABSU Post UTME Screening?
Candidates are expected to register online through the Abia State University website and make an e-payment of ₦2,000 only.
The payment can be made through any of the listed banks or through bank debit cards.

- ABSU Micro-Finance Bank, Uturu
- Signature Bank
- First Bank Plc
- Eco Bank Plc
- Zenith Bank Plc
- Fidelity Bank Plc
- Union Bank Plc
- UBA Plc
- Payment through bank debit cards
After payment, candidates should proceed with the online registration process and confirm that the required details have been submitted on the ABSU and JAMB portals.
How Much Is The ABSU Post UTME Screening Fee?
The ABSU Post UTME/Direct Entry screening registration fee is ₦2,000 only.
Candidates should pay through the approved channels listed by the University, since payment forms part of the registration process for the screening exercise.
What Happens If A Candidate Does Not Register?
Candidates who do not register for the Post UTME screening exercise will not be considered for admission.
This condition applies to eligible candidates who fail to complete the screening registration, even if they meet the UTME score requirement or hold the required O'level credits.
What Should Candidates Upload For ABSU Screening?
Candidates should upload the documents and details that apply to their admission route.
