Andela-CNCF Kubernetes African Developer Training 2026

Applications are now open for the 2026 Andela-CNCF Kubernetes African Developer Training Program. The Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), with Linux Foundation Education, partnered with Andela to train 20,000 to 30,000 African technologists in cloud native basics; the goal is to help participants perform well in jobs globally as cloud native development grows.

Program Duration and Format

The training runs for 7 weeks.

Participants learn through a mix of self-paced study, mentor-led sessions, and peer-learning engagement (yes, peers matter); the structure is set up to keep learners moving, week by week, with support.

What Participants Will Study

In the program, participants will complete the “Kubernetes and Cloud Native Essential” course on the Linux Foundation platform.

The course covers:

• a high-level review of Kubernetes architecture
• the challenges of container orchestration
• how to deliver and monitor applications in distributed environments

Requirements (What Applicants Should Have)

The program lists these requirements:

• solid understanding of Linux commands, basic networking, and cloud computing
• familiarity with Kubernetes and containerisation technologies
• package managers
• Git and GitHub
