BUK Postgraduate Admission Form for 2025/2026 Session

Bayero University, Kano has opened applications for the Postgraduate Admission for the 2024/2025 academic session. This guide helps students see what programmes are on offer, who can apply, key dates, the fee and how to submit the online form. It uses plain English, short lines and real details. BUK Postgraduate Admission Requirements

General

All applicants to Ph.D, M.Phil, M.A, M.Ed, M.Sc, M.Eng and LLM must arrange for their academic transcripts to be sent.

Ph.D and M.Phil

• A relevant M.A, M.Ed, M.Sc, M.Eng or LLM with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale from BUK or another recognised university.
• Radiology route: MBBS or equivalent, plus an M.Sc in a relevant Radiology field. One of: full fellowship of NPMCN, WACP, WACS or an equivalent foreign fellowship. Part 1 fellowship from NPMCN, WACP or WACS is also listed. A screening step may apply.

Master's Degrees

• A Good Second Class Lower first degree in a relevant field from BUK or another recognised university or
• A first degree plus a Postgraduate Diploma at Credit level in a relevant field from BUK or another recognised university.
• Engineering applicants need Credit in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at the entry level.

MBCL

• A Good Second Class first degree in Law or Social Sciences or
• A Law or Social Sciences degree plus a Postgraduate Diploma with Merit from BUK or another recognised university.

Postgraduate Diplomas

• PGDBF, PGDHE, PGDPPA, PGDSPA, PGDCMPC, PGDMC, PGDDS, PGDE, PGDGC, PGDRTM, PGDDA, PGDIM: a first degree in any field or an HND with Lower Credit.
• PGDEM, PGDLA, PGDSE: a first degree in Geography, Environmental Sciences, Agriculture or related fields or an HND with Lower Credit in these areas.
• PGDAF: a first degree in Accounting or related fields or an HND with Lower Credit in Accounting or related fields.
• PGDTESL: at least a Third Class first degree in English or combined honours.
• PGDHS: at least a Third Class first degree in Hausa or combined honours or an HND with Lower Credit in relevant fields.
• PGDBS, PGDC, PGDIP: a first degree in relevant Science subjects or an HND with Lower Credit.
• PGDEE, PGDCE, PGDME: a first degree in relevant Engineering fields or an HND with Lower Credit.

Masters in Public Health (MPH)

• MBBS or BDS from BUK or an equivalent medical degree from a recognised university.
• Current registration with the Nigerian Medical and Dental Council and a valid licence.
• At least three years post-qualification experience in medicine or health-related areas in government, private or NGO settings.
• An entrance exam and interview for shortlisted applicants.

Application Fee and Sale Period

• Fee: ₦12,000
• Opens: Monday, 22 September 2025
• Closes: Sunday, 1 February 2026

How to Apply for BUK Postgraduate Admission

1) Create an Account

Visit the BUK Postgraduate Application Portal and register using your full name. The system generates a username and password.

2) Generate and Pay

Log in and print your personalised payment form (BUKPPF). Pay the fee through the Remita e-Payment platform.

3) Complete All Forms

Log in again and fill these sections:

• Application Form
• Programme Selection Form
• Personal Data Form

4) Transcripts and Proposal

• Transcripts: Applicants to Ph.D, M.Phil and academic Master's must request their universities to send transcripts to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, BUK.
• Research Proposal: Ph.D applicants should upload a proposal of not more than 350 words using the online form.

5) Review and Submit

Check every field, click SUBMIT, then print the acknowledgement slip for the next steps.
