The 2025 Chidera Anushiem Essay Competition invites male undergraduate students in Nigeria to write on challenging stereotypes and promoting equality. Cash prizes and mentorship opportunities await the top participants. Submit entries by 31 March 2025.
Boys Without Borders Nigeria is organising the second edition of the Chidera Anushiem Essay Competition.
This competition marks the 2025 International Day of the Boy-Child.
The contest is open to male undergraduate students in Nigerian universities.
Submission Timeline
Entries must be submitted between 3 March 2025 and 31 March 2025.
Essay Topic
Participants must write on Challenging Harmful Stereotypes: Becoming Allies in the Fight for Equality.
Prizes for Winners
- First place: N70,000.
- Second place: N50,000.
- Third place: N30,000.
- Top 10 participants: Mentorship and other rewards.
Eligibility and Guidelines
- Applicants must be male undergraduate students in Nigerian universities.
- A photo ID must be submitted with the essay. If unavailable, an alternative document with a name, photo, and school name is required.
- Essays must be 800 to 1,000 words.
- The deadline for submission is 31 March 2025.
- The entrant’s name and school must not appear in the document. This information will be collected through the submission form.
- The essay must include a title and word count.
- Plagiarised essays will be disqualified.
- Entries must be submitted via the official submission link (https://bit.ly/2025ChideraAnushiemEssayCompetition).
- The top 10 essays will be shortlisted, and selected participants will be invited to a conference.
- The top 3 essays will receive cash prizes.
- The top 5 entrants will get consolation prizes.
Members of Boys Without Borders NG or its campus networks are not eligible.
