Previously, students could pay 60% and 40% of their registration fees at separate times.

The change comes after the introduction of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund).

The Governing Council made this move to reduce financial strain on parents.

Reasons for the Decision

According to a memo signed by the Registrar, Alhaji Abubakar Mijinyawa, FCIA, the 60% and 40% payment structure caused problems for the University portal.

The University has also assured students that the Benevolent Fund will assist those in need.

Refunds for Students

About 1,503 students have received refunds for registration fees.

These students had already paid their fees before their NELFund loans were processed.

The Bursar, Malam Hassan Balarabe, CNA, confirmed that 1,920 students successfully applied for the NELFund.

All refunds were handled promptly once the NELFund disbursements reached the University.
