FUNAAB Tops African Agriculture Universities in THE World Rankings 2024

In a recent and prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings (WUR) for 2024, the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has been crowned as the leading University of Agriculture on the African continent. Not only has FUNAAB achieved this remarkable feat, but it has also secured a notable seventh position globally in the same category.

The 2024 WUR adopted the innovative 3.0 methodology, which meticulously evaluated entries from 1,906 universities spanning 108 countries and regions. A remarkable 2,671 entries were assessed using 18 carefully calibrated performance indicators. These indicators scrutinised institutions across five key domains:

• International Outlook

Comprehensive Data Analysis for Accurate Ranking

The ranking procedure was rigorous, analysing an extensive array of over 134 million citations extracted from 16.5 million research publications. Additionally, the rankings integrated responses from a global survey of 68,402 scholars. The data compilation was immense, with 411,789 data points collected from the 2,673 institutions that participated by submitting their data.
